Sibongile Mani gets elected as the committee treasurer at Walter Sisulu University

Sibongile Mani, who previously had a huge court case for spending a portion of the 14 million rand she received from NSFAS has been elected as the committee treasurer at Walter Sisulu University (WSU).

South Africans on social media are absolutely outraged after Sibongile Mani took to social media to set forth that she is one of the candidates running to become a committee treasurer at the Walter Sisulu University.

Mani has recently had a huge court case which had the entire world glued to their screens to find out what the verdict would be.

In 2017, The WSU student was accidently paid 14 million rand by the National Student Financial Aid Scheme (NSFAS) and she spent just over eight hundred thousand (R800 000).

The results received after the voting process set Mani at a higher ranking as opposed to the other candidates.

Mani received a total of seventy-nine votes while the other candidate received twenty-nine which goes to show that multiple students believe in Mani to lead their committee.

The main aim and purpose of the committee which Mani will head, raises funds for the University and any foundations involved.

Many people are concerned about this placement of Mani in a financial setting, after her previous charges.

Others are pointing out that Mani has shown dedication and commitment to change and rectify her past by turning her life around and trying by all means to do better therefore they believe she, like others deserves a chance.

Her campaign manager - Athenkosi Fani took to the media to state that Mani has not had an easy navigation due to all the media backlash she has received.
