The stars are aligning, the ocean is churning, and our deepest desire is burning. Oh, how good it is to witness the Blue Moon with our own two eyes!

According to NASA science, a blue moon is the term for when we see the full moon twice in a single month. The moon’s cycle is 29.5 days, so shorter than the average length of a calendar month.

The question on all our minds is, "Will the moon actually appear blue?"

Sadly, the answer is no. A blue moon is just a term for two full moons in a month. The instance that a moon may appear blue is due to dust or smoke that is able to scatter away red wavelengths of light, thus causing the moon to appear blue.
