A horse named Rich Strike won the 148th running of the Kentucky Derby at Churchill Downs in Louisville, Kentucky, on Saturday. The horse entered the race at 80-1 odds, the biggest long-shot in the 20-horse field.

Paw-some news! Great Dane, Zeus, has been crowned the world's tallest living dog by Guinness World Records.⁠ Announced on March 22nd, this pooch is 1.046 meters tall.

Changing the world of recycling! 

A team from the University of Texas created a new enzyme variant that can supercharge recycling on a large scale. It focuses on PET (polyethylene terephthalate), which is a polymer found in most consumer plastic including bottles, packaging, and some textiles.
