Comair headed for liquidation

The company's business rescue practitioners say they filed a court application on Thursday to move the business rescue process to liquidation proceedings.

Comair, which operates Kulula and British Airways in South Africa, grounded all flights on 1 June as it desperately tried to secure funding to be able to continue with operations.

"We did our utmost to secure the funding, but when we were unable to do so had no option to lodge the application," says Business Rescue Practitioner Richard Ferguson.
