Minnie Dlamini is set to host the Miss World South Africa pageant. The TV presenter has signed a two-year deal with organisers.

She will host the pageant's first-ever ceremony on Saturday, October 28.

"The official host for @missworldsouthafrica airing globally. Bagged for the next two years. From Little Miss South Africa 2002 to this? Thank you @bouwercarol for the huge honour I can’t wait to make you and the organisation proud," Minnie wrote on Instagram.

Businesswoman Carol Bouwer took over the Miss World licence in South Africa in 2023. Her company, Carol Bouwer Productions, will oversee the pageant.

Carol says she is confident that Minnie will do a great job.

"I admire the many young women who have come to epitomise excellence in broadcasting in South Africa, and when I look at Minnie I see many of the qualities we possessed at her age as women in broadcasting! I’m also proud of the work she has done to set herself apart," Carol told The Citizen

The winner of the pageant will represent South Africa at the Miss World competition taking place in India in December.

Previously, a contestant from the Miss South Africa pageant would be sent to the pageant. However, Carol - as the new owner of the Miss World South Africa rights - has started her own franchise.

Reigning Miss South Africa Natasha Joubert will not be able to enter the Miss World pageant.

Thami Nkadimeng, Zanele Morrison, and Shirley van Wyk will serve as Minnie's co-hosts at the Miss World South Africa ceremony.

Miss World 2014 Rolene Strauss has also been announced as one of the judges.
