Ah coffee, the liquid joy in a cup that makes all our days a lot brighter.  

There's only one thing better than waking up to the smell of fresh coffee brewing in the kitchen - driving to your favourite café for a delicious "cup of Joe".

Cappuccino, Americano, Macchiato, Affogato - whatever your choice, they are all favoloso! Durban has some of the best coffee shops in South Africa.

Gatvol Coffee

Located in La Lucia, Gatvol Coffee is fast becoming a favourite among Durban coffee lovers. It's delicious selection of specialty coffee drinks includes a 'Gatvol Dirty Chai', 'Iced Blondie', and a 'Crème Brûlée Latte'. But this is no ordinary coffee shop. Oh, no! From midday, the coffee shop turns into a cocktail bar! 

The 'Eskomplicated' cocktail is a vodka drink shaken with espresso, sun-dried orange, nachtmusik chocolate liqueur, and kahlua. 'Home Affairs' is an 031­ scarlet ­gin drink made with coffee cherry skin.

The Coffee Tree

The Coffee Tree in Glenwood is not only one of the best places to get a good cuppa, but it is a great place for breakfast and brunch. 

"The Coffee Tree is Glenwood’s best kept secret. The barista has exceptional skills. The menu is small but ticks all the boxes from homemade bagels to silky omelettes. The vibe is super easy, light and bright. Go on, venture out, you won’t be sorry," one patron wrote on Tripadvisor.

Rox Coffee Company

The Rox Coffee Company in Umhlanga is home to good coffee, good views, and good service. One coffee lover described it as the "perfect pit stop on the promenade" for people looking for grab-and-go coffee and food. There are also 'puppuccinos' and dog biscuits for your furry friends.
