No space? No problem! The Big Favour comes to the rescue

Space and storage can be a big problem, especially for organisations where donations play a crucial role in the running of the organisation itself. Thankfully, the people of KZN are always willing to help.

Sithanda Upliftment Projects was founded in September 2015 through honest coffee table talk among three close friends.

They’re now a team who want to do something for the greater good. Driven by passion and purpose, with a common interest of giving back to the community, they are dedicated to making a difference to the lives of those less fortunate.

Sithanda Upliftment Projects is a non-profit platform, committed to unlocking childhood discovery and uplifting individuals through the foundation of Early Childhood Development (ECD) centers in underprivileged communities.

Matt and his team wrote in to the Big Favour asking if there was any chance of us arranging a container for storage purposes.

Knowing how costly they are, Matt felt this was a big ask, but wrote in to The Big Favour as the ECD centre in the Inanda / Kwa Mashu area (housing about 40 children) has no place to store donated items – so it’s a desperate situation.

Clint McMahon ([email protected]), the Maintenance Manager for the Transport Division at Shoprite, heard Matt’s plea for help and committed to giving the organisation not one, but TWO 10m by 2.6m containers.

The insulated containers will be delivered to the site by the Shoprite team where Grant Brehany, the General Manager of Kempston Material Handling (031 7001267) will remove the containers and place them where they’re needed.

A gentleman who’s helped us in the past - Mark Bristow, the Operations Director for Zenzele Truck Bodies and Repairs (031 7002618) also jumped on board once again and offered to refurbish the containers to ensure they’re in tip-top shape.

Thank you, gents! You and your teams are INCREDIBLE and we appreciate your unbelievable generosity.

Matt and the team at Sithanda – we salute you too. What a sterling job you’re doing!
