George Michael was the first Carpool Karaoke star

Watch this incredible footage of James Corden and George Michael on an early version of
Carpool Karaoke.
Did you know George Michael was partly responsible for the beginning of the popular Carpool Karaoke series with James Corden?
James revealed earlier this year on the Howard Stern SiriusXM radio show that it was inspired in part by an old Comic Relief skit he did with George Michael back in 2011.
“My original idea was to pick George Michael up from prison in a car,” Corden said. “And then we realized, ‘Maybe we’ll lose the prison, but what if there’s still some fun for me and George to be in the car and we’ll sing some Wham! songs?'”
James realised that he could easily get celebrities to join in on this concept when he took over The Late Late Show. His Carpool Karaoke series has turned out to be a huge success featuring massive musicians in the industry.
How incredible!
I've loved George Michael for as long as I can remember. He was an absolute inspiration. Always ahead of his time.
