Would you pay R940k for a wall on someone else's building?

That's a firm no from the buyers and us...
When you think of property, there is always a sense of value that comes into play.
No one wants to buy something that is not worth their buck and we cannot really blame them for that.
But there is such a thing as misleading listings on property sites - and that is why it is so important to go for viewings rather than taking things at face value on the internet.
One man that tried pushing his luck was quickly found out. This after he published a property listing that was not quite what people thought it was.
Property in Georgetown, Washington is definitely prized and to find something in this location that is around $50,000 (R940,000) is considered a 'major bargain'.
"The photo featured in the listing showed what seemed to be a row house at the end of a block, but the price didn’t really make sense." (Oddity Central)
But like all things that seem too good to be true, this was a property that came with perspective.
"A lot of people were excited to see a property they could actually afford to buy, but their hopes were crushed when they realized that the listing wasn’t for a home, but for the partial wall of one, and a crumbling wall at that…" (Oddity Central)
The owner, Allan Berger, swears this was no joke. He inherited the wall from his dad who purchased it decades ago for pennies, just to say he owned a property in Georgetown.

It seems that a dozen people expressed interest in the property, which was valued at $600 (R11,300).
But they were told that they "would need to get approval from the Old Georgetown Board for advertising or murals, they all decided it wasn’t worth it." (Oddity Central)
We guess Berger drove them up the wall with the price...
