What is a 'Shoey' and why did Harry Styles do it even though he called it disgusting?

There are some crazy traditions and trends that exist, but none quite like that of the 'shoey'. 

A shoey has fast become a new drinking craze in the land of down under, Australia. 

And we have to say, this is exceeding all boundaries when it comes to the things we would never, ever do!

No matter how mainstream, trendy or popular it is to do this, we don't think we could ever do this...

And to think that Harry Styles recently did it at a performance at Perth Stadium, has us divided. 

"This is one of the most disgusting traditions I've ever heard of," he told the Perth stadium, grimacing before downing the drink to deafening chants of 'shoey, shoey, shoey'. (BBC News)

Styles is the latest celebrity to have succumbed to the tradition, which has taken down the likes of "F1 driver Sir Lewis Hamilton, actor Sir Patrick Stewart and a slew of musicians - including rapper Post Malone, Machine Gun Kelly and country singer Kasey Musgraves." (BBC News)
