Wedding planner sends ridiculous list of rules to guests - only gifts worth R1,000 plus
Updated | By East Coast Radio
Imagine your wedding planner isn't like J-Lo but rather a scarier version of Bridezilla...
We all remember that movie, 'The Wedding Planner', with Jenny from the block aka Jennifer Lopez. The movie that glamourised the whole idea of having someone help plan and coordinate your wedding.
When it comes to setting up rules for your wedding, they don't always have to be super precise, you need to remember that it's important to be inclusive and accommodating for your guests. After all, they are taking time out to spend it with you celebrating your union and your love.
There was a story on Reddit, covered by News24, about a wedding planner that sent a list of rules for the wedding to all the guests. Besides it being super impersonal, there were several spelling errors (which did not count well for her so-called authoritative email).
The email read:
Good morning. My name is (planner’s name). I am the wedding coordinator for (bride and groom’s names) Sanders. I am reaching out to all confirmed guest to do a finally headcount and go over some rules and regulations of the wedding day.
1. Please arrive 15-30 minutes early.
2. Please DO NOT wear white, cream or ivory.
3. Please do not wear anything other than a basic bob or ponytail.
4. Please do not fave a full face of makeup.
5. Do not record during the seramony.
6. Do not check in on FB until instructed.
7. Use (hashtag mentioned) when posting all pictures.
8. DO NOT TALK TO THE BRIDE AT ALL.
9. Everyone will toast with Remy. No acceptance
10. Lastly must come with a gift 75$ (R 1,000) or more, or you want be admitted in. (sic) (News24)
We can't say that we can relate to this email of rules. It is both outrageous to ask guests to bring gifts that have a cap. Does that mean that if you bring a gift that costs less than that then the bridal party won't accept it? Hmm...
What about not talking to the bride? Now come on, why are you asking me to be there if I cannot talk to you? Talk about being a diva about it all.
Can we get some feedback from you, KZN? Are we being harsh as it is their day or are these kinds of things a reality at many weddings nowadays?
