WATCH: Cruise ship worker reveals all the 'staff only' stores below deck
Updated | By East Coast Radio
Who knew there was a whole other world below deck?
When it comes to cruise holidays, our image of traveling on a ship comes from the 'Love Boat'. That old series that used to play way back when.
The glamourised notion of traveling on a ship, casino nights, dinner with the captain, and relaxing in a pool watching the ocean really gets us excited.
But this TikToker is not focusing on that version of cruise ships. Instead he is highlighting what we don't see.
"Bryan James has been living onboard the world's biggest crew ship for 223 days and revealed a number of 'below deck secrets' in a series of TikTok videos." (Daily Mail)
Of course, it is mostly intriguing to us because guests don't get to visit the staff areas. Which makes it all the more appealing to want to see.
But more than that, it takes us back to yet another memory of 'Titanic' and what it looked like below deck in comparison to the luxurious deck life for the privileged.
Check out one of his videos, showing how cruise ship workers have a whole shop below deck to buy things they may need.

It does provide another point of view though. How difficult it must've been for these workers during the pandemic.
Certainly makes you think about how grateful we should be with the sense of privilege we get in not being restricted when we want or feel for something.
Since the ship he works on is the largest in the world, it requires safety measures that accommodate all the passengers and the staff.
