Oops, you never know who's watching...Better to play it safe than be sorry...
With social media on the prowl all the time, it can be tricky to navigate around joking and being taken seriously.
Especially if you have a serious position in a high-profile company.
This man, was taken off guard when he shared a pop culture reference as an answer to the question, "What do you do for a living?"
It so happens his response was both offensive and completely inappropriate.
In the video Daniel Mac, a content creator who videos people asking them what they do for a living, approaches a man sitting in a rare $500,000 (R8.9-million) Mercedes-Benz SLR McLaren.
The man is seen in the driver's seat wearing a bright-coloured suit with a lady seated in the passenger seat.
"Blevins then replied: "I have rich cars, play golf, and fondle big-breasted women, but I take weekends and major holidays off.
"If you’re interested, I’ve got a hell of a dental plan." (Unilad)
After the video was aired it grew in the amount of views as well as people recognising this high-profile executive at Apple. Blevins, the VP for procurement has made many people unhappy, including his colleagues and partners.
"He said: "I would like to take this opportunity to sincerely apologise to anyone who was offended by my mistaken attempt at humour." (Unilad)
Nevertheless he has left Apple after being with the company for more than two decades.
We're not sure if the reason he left was due to the video release, but it sure opens up a can of worms. Some advice, think before you speak because sometimes your words can be taken in the complete wrong way and can be the end of your career.
