These are the top South African TikTokers of 2020!

Throughout 2020, TikTok has provided us with entertainment, lifehacks, information, laughter, and a batch of brand new famous faces. So who has come out on top as Mzansi's favourites?
When it comes to the end of the year, lots of apps choose to give you a roundup of the year and tell you more about your use of the app.

Spotify shows you which music was the true soundtrack to your year with #SpotifyWrapped. Facebook gives you a "best moments of" compilation, and Google gave us a list of the most frequent searches.
It only makes sense that TikTok should join in with their 'Year-end rewind' which tells us all about the top creators, effects, challenges, and songs.

And this is a list of everything TikTok South Africa because local is lekker.
Throughout this socially-distant year, the platform allowed its community to stay connected by celebrating trends and spreading positivity. Lastly, you can't mention TikTok without talking about challenges and music.
Some of the top challenges included the #johnvuligatechallenge, the #madibajivechallenge, and of course, the #Jerusalemachallenge.

While the top hits on the app include 'Spirits Up' by Sho Madjozi, 'There They Go' by Nasty C, 'Jerusalema' by Master KG, and 'John Vuli Gate' by Mapara A Jazz (obviously).
And last, but not in the slightest the least, the now infamous remix of Nkosazana Dlamini-Zuma talking about the ban of cigarettes - 'Zol' by Max Hurrell.
