Son calls an ambulance as his mother struggles to breathe, they arrive an hour later...

How do you prioritise an emergency?
It's a scary thing to see a loved one not feeling well. The fate of their health ultimately falls into your hands and you find yourself having to remain cool, calm, and collected - making sure that you prioritise your loved one and their needs.
But the irony of it all is that you actually don't have any control over it. You have to leave it in the hands of emergency services, which is the most normal thing to do. That's what they are there to do... be at service to those who are in an emergency state.
Of course, we cannot assert blame on any one person when it comes to helping someone who is experiencing a medical emergency. Because there is a range of factors to consider. But this recorded emergency call sounded like more like a business response rather than a life emergency...
There is a huge gap between a life emergency and delivering food. And after a total of six emergency calls, to hear the responses from the emergency respondent, is just disheartening.
Listen to the calls made to the ambulance by Akshay Patel, who called to ask for help for his mother, who was struggling to breathe.

Sadly, the mother was right when she kept screaming out that she was dying. As traumatic as it was to listen to the above, the reality is that the emergency services were overstretched and did not have the capacity to be there for her in time.
