What would you do? To participate or not...
We've all had to do something or the other that we didn't necessarily want to do when it comes to work. But the extremities are generally not that bad. Well, that's quite objective actually.
At least that's what happened in this case. An incident report was shared on Reddit of an employee named Nate. Nate was suspended from work for two days because he didn't want to participate in a TikTok challenge.
The letter goes on to say that Nate was told that all the employees would have to participate in a team building exercise during their weekly meeting. The exercise was a TikTok challenge, but Nate was not happy to be a part of it...
It was reported that he told other employees that he "did not make enough money for this s#i%". He then proceeded to leave the conference room and stand in the corner of the staff room.
He was told that the activity was voluntary, so he decided to leave the room. This is when things got confusing to us in the letter. He was approached by a member of the team who said the activity/challenge was happening a second time and he should join.
Nate refused. His refusal resulted in a two-day suspension and an incident infraction. The end of the report stated that this was his second write-up in a period of six months. Now this leads us to the very important question....
