Researchers capture 'Queen of the Ocean' shark weighing 1,587kg!

The Great White Shark was captured in Nova Scotia in eastern Canada by an Ocearch research team.
The monster shark was captured by an expedition led by Chris Fischer and the Ocearch team.

The experts collected data for 21 researchers, which included ultrasound, blood, muscle, and skin samples.
They even got up close and personal by getting bacteria samples from her teeth!

It was established that she weighed a massive 1,587kg and measured over 5m long.
Chris called her a matriarch of the sea, an old creature, and a proper Queen of the Ocean.

Her official name is Nukumi (pronounced 'noo-goo-mee') to honour the 'legendary wise old grandmother figure of the Native American Mi'kmaq people'.
