POV: "In our relationship I see it as the man's job to provide the house and the woman's to make the home."

Talk about being transported to the 50s in a modern-day relationship...
Are you financially independent in your relationship or do you and your partner still follow a primitive way of living?
Well, before you think we are throwing shade, can we just say that when it comes to relationships, we may be quite opinionated, but we do believe that each couple should make their own rules.
Because as much as we can all be sucked into that dreamy idea of 'happily ever after', every relationship has their ups and downs.
And sometimes its about creating your own version of what works, rather than worrying about what people think.
The same could be said about this couple. Hannah Chan recently shared that her boyfriend, Ed Reay pays for everything in their relationship.
She is happy to fulfill her role as a home maker and caregiver, whilst he fulfills the role of provider.
Admitting that each of them made their roles clear at the beginning of the relationship says a lot about how they work on being supportive to one another.
"After many failed dates, Hannah decided she wanted someone who could provide for her and take the lead.
She came to the realisation as a career-driven woman, a relationship with someone who could 'dominate' and 'provide' for her was what she needed." (LadBible)
To us this may seem like a gender stereotyped relationship, but we think it is more about knowing what you want and finding a way of attaining it.

Whilst Ed takes care of things financially, Hannah takes care of the household and gives value back to Ed.
""We have a 100/100 relationship - he provides financially, and I give him 100 percent when it comes to support and love and little things like bringing him a smoothie after a stressful day.
"There is no right and wrong in dating, the most important thing is that your values align between you and your partner for what you want in a relationship." (LadBible)
So often we condemn people in relationships when they do things differently. But it doesn't mean that it's the wrong way.
The moment we decide to move away from the 'social traditions', the sooner we can live a fuller and happier life.
