This week, Vic chats to the incredibly talented Jemma Kate. Jemma is a singer, songwriter, dancer, and choreographer from Durban who dreams of performing on massive stages around the world.
Jemma has been a regular face at various music venues in and around Durban, but the recent lockdown found her focusing a lot more on her songwriting. Now, after performing a string of covers, she has dropped her debut single titled, ‘Do You Hear Me’, and opens up to Vic about the song.

"I really aimed at creating intentional music, especially with everything going on in the world,” Jemma says. “I want to make music which would attract people with the beat and yet still hold a message in the lyrics of happiness and hope.”
Jemma explains that ‘Do You See Me’ speaks about “finding yourself in a confusing place and searching for that glimmer of hope in the world, but then being grounded and comforted by the fact that when we look around, we are exactly where we are meant to be, and our hearts beating is that constant reminder every time we need it."
