What does your perfume say about you?
There are those questions that always boggle our minds when we are faced with the infamous, 'Why?'.
We just find it fulfilling in some way to know the answer.
So when we heard about research that has gone into what our perfume or our preferred scent says about us, we found it completely intriguing.
A scent can leave you feeling invigorated, uplifted, nauseas, sexy, and even nostalgic... But if there is one thing that's important when it comes to scents, it's that you should always be complimented about yours.
You never want to be that person that is talked about because you were not smelling good. And that doesn't mean that you have to go out and spend loads of money on an expensive perfume, sometimes just using a scented soap or lotion can brighten your mood and even cheer others up, too.
"According to Dr Alan R Hirsch, the founder of the Smell and Taste Treatment and Research Foundation, perfume choices are influenced by personality. Zesty citrus: According to the doctor, those attracted to citrus scents tend to be strong-minded, ambitious, natural leaders, and they may be viewed as dominant and aggressive.
If you are into Rose notes, then you are introspective and are sensitive to the needs of others.

People who prefer lavender tend to be sexually reserved, but curious individuals. They value friendship and they tend to work well in groups. They’re thought of as contemplative and thoughtful. You’re probably thinking that people who like vanilla are bland, ‘blah,’ and have a vanilla personality, but we found just the opposite! People who like vanilla are lively, energetic, the life of the party—they’re anything but vanilla.- Dr Alan R Hirsch
He found that Sandalwood lovers tend to have high expectations for themselves and others. “They’re very self-critical, easily offended by physical remarks, and can misinterpret what others say about them,” Dr. Hirsch says.
It you like a fruity scent then you can be described as an irritable, cranky, and pessimistic person.
And if you like tropical scents: “They’re immaculate dressers who can be thought of as wearing expensive jewellery. They’re authoritative leaders who take charge in situations. They’re also sensitive to criticism,” Dr. Hirsch says.
If you love the smell of freshly tucked in linen, then you are supposedly very action-oriented. You enjoy being challenged, both physically and mentally, you are also self-confident, goal oriented, in control, and intuitive.
If you enjoy floral scents such as Jasmine, then you crave novelty and adventures.
Whilst Gardenia lovers are more steady and dependable in nature. They can be described as those that migrate towards safe and secure types of relationships. More a follower than a leader, a definite team player and people pleaser.
"The sweetness of the Honeysuckle: Dr. Hirsch describes Honeysuckle fans as “empathetic, easygoing, and well-adjusted”." (MSN)
