If she was still here, she would have died with laughter after reading her obituary...

Not quite what we expect when it comes to paying your last respects...
Writing someone's obituary is certainly a big deal. If anything it is that one thing that many people find honourable, but it can be super emotional when dealing with death. But that was not the case for this son...
He used humour and honesty as his two motives when writing his mother's obituary. And lo and behold, it was received in the best way after he decided to share it on social media.
There's that age old saying that everyone deals with death differently. This son certainly proved that after writing his mother's obituary and sharing it to Twitter.
When you think about an obituary, there is this expectation to keep it clean, respectful. You rarely find people speaking the truth about the person they are laying to rest. Because there is this unspoken rule of thumb that forces us to share all the good about that person.
Andy Corren expressed himself in the most eloquent way when it comes to writing his mother's obituary. He started off by saying...
the bawdy, fertile, redheaded matriarch of a sprawling Jewish-Mexican-Redneck American family has kicked it.- Andy Corren

That in itself may seem cold but it actually has a fun spin on her relationship with her family.
"Coren was touched by how the readers responded to his mother’s obituary. The Covid-19 pandemic had got many people’s spirits down, “maybe we all needed a laugh, and a way to talk about death in a funny way.” (MSN)
So we guess in the end it all worked out. It helped people find the good in this son sharing his memories of his mother.
