Hotel Eastlink: The most confusing 'hotel' in Australia

Art is known for its subjective expression of beauty. But not always.
Sometimes art is something that speaks in the form of a spectacle. Perhaps attaching some meaning to pieces of art that speaks to something of society.
Safe to say that not all pieces of art translate into one line of thinking.
One such piece of art is a sculpture that was created in 2007 and stands tall alongside a motorway outside of Melbourne, in Australia’s Victoria state.
The sculpture was designed by local artist Callum Morton and has been confusing motorists ever since its unveiling in 2007.
"It’s not as large as a high-rise hotel – 20 meters tall, 12m wide, and 5m thick – but driving past it at high speed for the first time, it’s really hard to tell, so it’s no wonder that people actually look it up online and actually call in for reservations." (Oddity Central)
The sculpture is something of an oxymoron; to get people to think beyond what meets the eye.
"I think it’s kind of interesting how putting something in a space that is slightly beguiling or is a little bit strange, how that maybe changes the way people think about art or practice,” Callum Morton said about his unique artwork. (Oddity Central)
