Customer doesn't follow cake care instructions and cake falls apart!
Updated | By East Coast Radio
There really is no respect sometimes from customers to small business owners...
There's something about customers who feel they can just get away with anything when it comes to small businesses.
The thing is, we can understand that there is a sense of being unable to distinguish between feeling entitled as a customer and what's actually fair.
And, of course, it's not all customers but in this case, it was a customer who was just crossing the line.
A small business baker shared a story of how a customer had picked up the cake and then called saying the cake fell apart.
When the baker asked the customer if she left the cake in the car or in the fridge, the customer admitted that she had a few errands to run and left the cake in the car.
To which the baker responded: "It was in the cake care advice to store your cake in the fridge and take out just before celebration starts and specifically states not to leave in car for longer than a car ride home and to have the air con on high."
The customer then responded saying that she didn't read it and needs the baker to come and fix the cake, as the party starts in an hour.
The baker was unable to just drop what she was doing, as she had other orders to fulfil and so said she wouldn't be able to help.
The customer then asked for a refund!

Can you believe that she did that?
Of course, we are spoilt when we purchase things from a larger store, because we know that if there is a problem they will refund or return the item.
But we highly doubt even a larger retailer would've given her a refund, considering she didn't follow the instructions.
Do you think this small business owner was right to have done this or not?
