California bill states anyone born after 2006 can never buy tobacco products
All in a bid to help save people from addiction...
As much as smoking is a personal choice, it is governed by the law.
And it seems that personal choice part has become obsolete for the next generation in California.
"Under Assembly Bill 935, California law, current smokers would be able to continue buying tobacco products, but anyone younger than 16 years old today would not be able to buy tobacco—ever." (Instagram)

"Instead of punishing tobacco consumers, the bill would target retailers instead. It would do this by including a series of financial penalties and license suspensions for retailers who break the proposed law." (Instagram)
Surprisingly, the law excludes cannabis sales.
The reason behind the decision was that "the compulsive nature of nicotine compels youth to become addicted".
