PICS: KZN listener reveals annoying WhatsApp family group messages
Updated | By Damon Beard
WhatsApp can be a great form of communication when it comes to family, but sometimes it can become overkill. A KZN listener has exposed her family's WhatsApp group showing why she had to hit the 'Leave Group' tab.
Listen as KZN shares what annoys them about their family WhatsApp groups, or read the details under the podcast.
Family WhatsApp groups can be amazing. It’s a great way to stay in touch and chat about stuff that’s relevant, but from what I’ve seen, they can also be a complete nightmare.
In my family WhatsApp group, there are literally just three of us, and it’s relatively chilled. But generally speaking, I’m not a fan of being in a group.

I know someone who has four other family members in his group, and that phone just goes off all day, every day, and none of it is relevant. It’s just random chit-chat that becomes so irritating that you actually just want to scream at them and say, “Pick up the phone and just talk to each other!”
It seems that I'm not the only one who's not a fan of family WhatsApp groups. An anonymous KZN listener sent us a message with screenshots of why she decided to leave her family WhatsApp group.

Here's the message she sent us:
Damon, I want to tell you about my family whatsapp group. I was forced into joining it thinking that it would be only for us to send IMPORTANT messages, however over time it has become unbearable. My family sends weird messages and blows up my phone day in and day out with nonsense I had to leave otherwise I was going to throw my phone out the window. I am a busy working professional and don't have time for random chats. Maybe I'm overreacting but you can judge for yourself.- Anonymous

You can't choose your family, but you can choose not to be a part of an annoying family WhatsApp group with them!
Remember, it doesn't mean you don't love them, but rather it says that you care enough to pick up the phone and give them a call, rather than spew random nonsense in a group.
