Maya Christinah Wegerif, popularly known as Sho Madjozi, is a South African artist, poet, and songwriter who rose to fame after dropping a hit gqom song with Okmalumkoolkat titled, 'Gqi'.

Sho Madjozi became extremely popular for the way she dressed and styled herself, as well as the way she embraced her culture and showcased another side of the Xitsonga culture.

Another thing that sets her apart is her ability to incorporate her culture into her music and modernise it to inspire South Africans and display the importance of taking pride in your culture.

The 'Huku' hitmaker has achieved so much in the duration of her career and continues to show the world more of her.

She was named as part of Forbes Africa's 30 under 30 for her excellent impact in the entertainment industry.

Also, her hit song, 'John Cena', got her on 'The Kelly Clarkson Show' - where she got to meet John Cena himself.

Sho Madjozi has inspired so much on the South African popular culture scene such as fashion, hair, and music.

Her signature hairstyle went viral and had many people wanting to rock the hairdo and also be cool. She has inspired so many young South Africans to express themselves.
