"They didn't seem like bad people": KZN Midlands teen recalls terrifying kidnapping attempt

It's every mother's worst nightmare, and unfortunately, it came true for a mother in the KZN Midlands area. Thankfully, there was a happy ending to this story.

The year 2018 saw a rise in child kidnappings across the country and had many parents living in fear. While parents try their hardest to protect their children, it's impossible to be with them 24/7.

Jane recently came across a harrowing post from a Howick group on Facebook from a mother detailing how she almost lost her son. The mother decided to post the message to alert parents to be aware of their child's whereabouts at all times.

The child (whose name has been concealed for safety reasons) is 14 and was innocently riding his bike when he was approached by a car asking for directions. 

Feeling trapped and confused, he started screaming and was afraid for his life. He kept screaming, "Help me, I'm going to die".

His mom revealed to Jane that she was in a state of shock when she received the call. She also shares how unexpected this was - especially with it being such a small town.
