PICS: 30kg hot dog submitted to the Guinness World Book of Records
A hot dog stand in Brooklyn, New York has celebrated the day that the food item was invented by cooking up what is possibly destined for the record books.
Americans - the land of lady liberty, fries, and the hot dog. Okay, there's more to the States than that, but hot dogs definitely stand out for us.
It has been about 152 years since Charles Feltman invented the original hot dog, and to celebrate, famous hot dog stand 'Feltman's of Coney Island' has attempted a feat that has left us all stunned.

Attempting to claim the 'Guinness World Record for Largest Hot Dog', the eatery cooked up the meaty monster on a massive grill, and each piece was sold. Proceeds from the sale will go towards "NYC-based nonprofit, Headstrong Project, which provides cost-free mental health care to post 9/11 combat veterans," Feltman's of Coney Island reports on their Facebook page.
The hot dog was over 5ft long (over 1,5-metres) and weight a whopping 66lbs (30kgs).

Their entry has been submitted to Guinness, and now they have to wait some time to hear if they can stake their claim.
