Naomi Campbell wears hazmat suit to airport amid coronavirus outbreak

The model shared photos of herself in a white hazmat suit, gloves, and a mask at the Los Angeles International Airport.
Naomi Campbell does a lot of travelling around the world, but with the recent coronavirus outbreak, she has had to take extra precaution to ensure she protects herself.

The international model shared images of herself wearing a white hazmat suit and a mask while driving.
She was seen in the same outfit and mask at the Los Angeles International Airport, even though she did not share where she was flying to.
She captioned the image: “Safety First NEXT LEVEL."

The model seems to be working on something that will soon be released on YouTube.
"Full video coming on my YouTube soon…" she wrote.
Hazmat suits are known to protect people from hazardous materials or substances, including chemicals, biological agents, or radioactive materials.
Since the coronavirus outbreak, there has been a high demand for hazmat suits and masks.
According to Business Insider, South Africans are spending close to R30,000 on full hazmat suits for fear of the coronavirus.
Shaheen Mehtar, professor of infection control at Stellenbosch University, told the publication that the suits are unnecessary and make little difference.

“There is no justification for hazmat suits. These are expensive, cumbersome and totally unnecessary,” he said.
The virus can still spread if the mouth and hands are not protected.
Dr Marvin Hsiao of the National Health Laboratory Service at the University of Cape Town says masks do not stop people from being infected by the coronavirus.
"Surgical mask reduces spreading from the infected person but does not prevent infection," he said.
