From the village to superstar: Sho Madjozi bags a BET Award and Stacey is elated
Updated | By Stacey Norman
A few weeks after her big SAMA win, Sho Madjozi has bagged another award, and Stacey is filled with joy for her.
It seems like just yesterday that I spoke to Sho Madjozi. She is really such a wonderful soul, and she really spoke so openly about her anxiety and fitting into the industry.

Then lo and behold, my feed was filled to the brim this morning with the news that our girl won Best New International Act at the 2019 BET Awards, which took place on Sunday evening in Los Angeles.
What makes it even more incredible is that the Huku hitmaker has become the first female South African artist to do so.
Her acceptance speech really brought tears of joy to my eyes. She talks about making it big despite starting from really humble beginnings.
"My story is testament that you can come from any village, in any forgotten part of the world, and still be a superstar. For girls that come from where I am from, which is Limpopo, I just want to say that you don't need to change who you are, you can still be big," she said.

This girl's international, yo, and there's only one way for Sho Madjozi - and that's up! I'm really so proud of her, for putting herself on the map, and more importantly for flying the flag of South Africa so high.
Sho Madjozi, Mzansi and one Stacey Norman sees you coming through!
