This man's inbox is burning up!

An unfortunate incident unfolded whereby a high school student's phone caught alight while on charge. After posting said incident on social media, the reactions from South African users were unhinged.

Many SAFFAS joked that "the conversation the owner was having on the phone was so hot that the device could not handle it!"

While some carry on laughing about the unrealistic causes of this phone fire, others offer some not-so-helpful solutions such as putting it in rice...

We do hope that the coverage this student has received is enough to fund a new phone... hopefully this time it won't catch on fire.
