WhatsApp will no longer work on certain phones: Here's the full list

If you've been waiting for a sign to get a new phone... this is it.
WhatsApp has sent us through the wringer over the past few years with its constant changes and updates. Not to mention all the other drama they have been involved in.

Remember when they announced their new privacy plans and how you were going to lose your WhatsApp access if you chose not to share your data with Facebook? But they quickly backtracked when everyone and their mother moved to other messaging apps such as Telegram and Signal.
Even though WhatsApp has been taking us on an emotional rollercoaster equal to that of our most toxic ex, everyone is still using the app for all their communication needs.

But WhatsApp might have just put the final nail in the coffin with their latest announcement.
As of the 1st of November 2021, WhatsApp will remove support on 43 smartphones.

From Android to iOS, it doesn't matter how "new" you think your phone might be, WhatsApp is here to tell you it's too old for their application.
If you have held on to that old phone for years and years and you were hoping the universe might reward you for taking such good care of it - tough luck. Exactly the opposite is about to happen.

From November 1 all 43 phones on this list will lose the ability to make phone calls and video calls or send messages and pictures.
Any iPhone that is operating on iOS 9 or earlier will become incompatible with the app and any phone that is that has Android 4.0.4 or earlier installed, will see the same happen.

Here is a full list of all the phones that will become completely incompatible with WhatsApp:
- Apple iPhone SE, 6S and 6S Plus
- Samsung Galaxy S3 Mini, Trend II, Trend Lite, Core, Ace 2
- LG Optimus F7, F5, L3 II Dual, F7 II, F5 II
- Sony Xperia
- Huawei Ascend Mate and Ascend D2
So if you are currently using one of these models, it might be time to look at other options. Or just stop using WhatsApp completely.

The app has been struggling to keep its users over the privacy concerns mentioned earlier and Ireland have even hit WhatsApp with a record R3.8-million fine.
The fine comes as a result of an inquiry made into the transparency of the messaging app with regards to it sharing personal data with other Facebook companies.

While many still faithfully use WhatsApp, there is a resounding feeling that they might be on thin, thin ice right now.
One wrong move and we might live to see the fall of WhatsApp.
