Stacey and J Sbu share how they rang in the new year
Updated | By Stacey and JSbu
The Festive Season is a time that many people travel far and wide to spend time with those nearest and dearest to them, however things were notably and understandably different in 2020.
The aftermath of all things that encompassed the year 2020 are being carried through to the new year globally. The COVID-19 pandemic is still affecting millions of people and South Africa is in the second wave of the virus.
About a week ago, the number one citizen of the country, Cyril Ramaphosa, adjusted the country's COVID-19 alert level from level one to level three.

This is effective until the 15th of January, which meant that a lot of South Africans who had made plans for New Year's Eve and the holiday season would have had to alter their plans. Notably a curfew was implemented from 9pm to 6am and the sale of alcohol from retail outlets and the on-site consumption of alcohol was not permitted.
Stacey spent New Year's Eve with one of her closest friends. The two had a sleepover and admittedly they were in bed way before the clock hit midnight.
The curfew meant Stacey did not have the pressure of needing to be out and socialising. Many people do not know this, but the Drive host is a home body.
I love my space and home. My favourite part of everyday outside of coming to work is heading straight back home to be reunited with my cat Goku and bed!- Stacey Norman
Normally around this time of the year, J Sbu, who is also a DJ, would be out and about doing gigs, but that all had to change. J Sbu spent the majority of his time with his family and his son Zanda.
Time that J Sbu is incredibly grateful for, and whether or not he stayed up until midnight on New Year's Eve... that would be a hard no.
Bheki Cele would be happy to know that I was in bed by 9 pm on New Years eve LOL,- J Sbu
How did your New Year's Eve celebrations differ from previous years?
