A latest deep-dive into the street cuisine of Joburg has Mzansi completely flabbergasted. 

According to Esibayeni Siyasutha’s owner, Sibusiso Madlala, "Fatty crocodile meat is a hot commodity in Soweto, due to their belief in the oil’s curing 'powers'."

Madlala shares with The Citizen that although it wasn’t love at first taste, because he didn’t enjoy the stewed version served to him, the Pimville businessman decided to give crocodile a second chance.

After a ton of tinkering, the idea of spicing the croc up with a fried covering is a winner.

This finger lickin' recipe has seen national attention. The meat is not easy to stock as it is considered exotic meat, hence why everything needs to be pre-ordered and prepared for the weekend.

The Pimville businessman further shares with journalist Vukosi Maluleke that the croc doesn’t cost much more than regular meat. He spends on average between R125 and R130 per kilo for the meal. Additionally, this meat cooks even faster than chicken.
