South Africans show love by paying medical student Mumtaaz Emeran's fees
When there is a cry for help, Mzansi always comes through, even when times are tough.
Earlier this week, medical student Mumtaaz Emeran took to social media to ask for donations towards her school tuition.
In the video that she posted asking for the assistance of her fellow South Africans, she explained that she had just over 24 hours to raise money to pay her outstanding fees or she could not graduate and start working as a medical doctor on January, 1, 2021.
Imagine having to do something you have never done just so you can make your dreams come true? Well, shy Emeran had no choice but to ask for help. In the video she first posted, she tries to explain her situation.
I’m reaching out to you because I’m in a tricky situation. This is a very difficult thing to do for me but I thought, let me swallow my pride for second and do it.
I just finished my last medical exam and I thought I would be excited and over the moon. But then I got a message from my faculty telling me I will not graduate because of my historical debt and if it’s not settled by December 9, my name will be removed from the graduation list
And because our beloved country always seems to lend a helping hand when people are in a sticky situation, South Africans came through in their numbers, digging deep into their pockets to help Emeran graduate.
The amazed and ecstatic Emeran posted a follow-up video updating those who have contributed to her cause.

To help her reach her goal, local celebrities and influencers reposted her video and called on others to help. How amazing?!
Now that Emeran can finally graduate all thanks to South Africans, many have reached out with congratulatory messages.

To show her appreciation, Emeran posted on her Instagram her final marks - just to show how serious and grateful she is.
