The South African “nasty plate” challenge has us gagging!
Updated | By Stacey & J Sbu
Would you dare have a go at this tummy-turning food?
We have seen some wild trends over the years, but this “ugly plate/food” challenge is unlike anything we have ever seen before.
TikTokers from South Africa are taking to their family group chats to prank their parents.
Watch this gut wrenching scene unfold below:

The basis of how this challenge works is that a family member sends pictures of plates of food to their family stating that their friend is taking orders.
The family member then urges the rest of the family to place orders.
After much drawback from members and a degrading compilation of food pictures, fun and laughter erupts.

The most hilarious part is how long it takes for the rest of the family to say something.
