It’s not uncommon for something a Kardashian has said to be taken the wrong way, but this audio has been spreading like wildfire.

Kim K’s comment was that people need to “get off their f*ing ass and get to work”. 

Although this sound started spreading in quite a humourous way, it’s since been facing a lot of controversy. 

Many fans were outraged due to the fact that Kim Kardashian does not have a typical job where she has to work, yet she is telling other people that they need to get to work.

This “hypocritical” comment has ignited on all social platforms. 

This remark has also sparked response from her previous employees who've called her insensitive to the troubles non-famous people around the world face in the workforce. 

This questionable quote became the subject of many memes and TikTok videos that got us good.

Her comment even featured during the Oscars when co-host Regina Hall said: "This is a quote from Kim Kardashian: 'Work harder.' That's what we need you to do."

This quote is definitely one for the books despite having a warning sign on the front page.

Kim clarified in an interview with Good Morning America that her words were taken out of context.

Her clarification was as follows: "It wasn't a blanket statement towards women or to feel like I don't respect the work or think that they don't work hard. I know that they do."

Some fans took it with a grain of salt but others aren’t letting this comment slip.

Kim further explained that she was frustrated with a question that the interviewer had asked before the work advice question. 

Thus, she ended up answering more forcefully than she had meant to.

“That statement that I said was without questions and conversation around it, and it became a soundbite really with no context," Kim said.

Proceeding with an apology, Kim later mentioned: "Having a social media presence and being on a reality show does not mean overnight success, and you have to really work hard to get there, even if it might seem like it's easy and that you can build a really successful business off of social media," she said. "And you can, if you put in a lot of hard work."
