The South
African department of education plans to introduce new high school subjects by
2025.
These new subjects will be applicable to learners in grades 10 – 12.
This is a great action from the department of education because each and every learner is unique.
It is important to have a wide variety of school subjects to cater to a wide range of students.
This plan will benefit South African learners because it promotes new subjects which teach and enhance set of skills which can be crucial.

Some of the subjects could also assist students to make extra money on the side which is an advantage as it tackles their entrepreneurial side.
Some of the new potential subjects which will be rolled out include:
- Coding
- Engineering
- Hairdressing
- Arts & design
- Office Administration
- Aerospace

This selection of new subjects might improve the employment rate for the youth because they actively train learners.
Also, instead of learners reading through notebooks they get to engage in the subjects and participate which gives them a better understanding of the context.
The department of education aims to develop learners by providing education that gives them training which will prepare them for future endeavors.

The department of education disclosed that they will review the subject list and ensure they roll out subjects that will provide quick employment for the learners.
Furthermore, this strategy will definitely be extremely beneficial to the youth in South Africa.
