Babes' new album, titled ‘Idando Kazi’, lists her long-time collaborator and on-and-off boyfriend Mampintsha.
The two have had a very public, volatile relationship in the last few years. In early 2019, a warrant of arrest for Mampintsha was issued in connection with an alleged assault on Babes, whose real name is Bongekile Simelane.
This was after a video in which the two are involved in an altercation was shared on Babes' Instagram account and went viral.
This video sparked a public intervention by Babes' family, who appealed to their daughter to cut ties with the Big Nuz artist.
Here is the social media reaction to the two artists still making music together:
I won't be surprised if he even has the rights to the name "babes wodumo" https://t.co/IIPaRwf6N0

She was TIRED, but was on DEMAND. She was the most booked and she had to show up to not disappoint event planners coz she needs them.....It was disappointing for us fans but I understood, shz human.

Is time to let past remain in the past. If you can take a closer look to Babes Wodumo, clearly you will see that she is not what she was. Move over.
