Meet the TikTok star whose 'Shah Rukh Khan' song inked him a Bollywood record deal!

Shah Rukh Khan fandom is nothing new, as the Bollywood icon is one of thee most recognisable faces and voices in the film industry.
His star power extends to different continents and countries, one of them being Canada.
Canadian rapper, producer, and musician Hitesh Sharma, who goes by the stage name Tesher, has gone viral on social media platform, TikTok.
The 25-year-old, who was not on TikTok until a user commented on his YouTube, sharing that his songs were a massive hit on the platform. Surprised and confused, Hitesh headed over to the social media app and discovered one of his remixes had been used in 500,000 users’ videos.

Sharma shared that he was "surprised as he had not promoted it and that his song had gained such fans spontaneously".
His first remix to go viral was that by Lil Nas X and Billy Ray Cyrus 'Old Town Road' with Ramta Jogi from the Bollywood film Taal.

This led to people discovering his catalogue that included the massive hit, 'Young Shahrukh', inspired by the one and only Sha Rukh Khan - the 'King of Bollywood'.
Sharma had written, rapped, and produced the song alone in his Toronto apartment in Canada.
People were using it to make makeup tutorials, dance videos ... they were showing off their outfits. They were making gaming montages — you name it. It was all over the platform- Hitesh Sharma
Soon, Young Shahrukh had about one-million views on YouTube, SoundCloud, and Spotify.
Following this massive reception, Sony Music India came calling!
After releasing 'Young Shahrukh' on the label, it claimed the number one spot on the BBC Asian Music Chart.
The video now sits on over 20-million views and we can see why.
