Woolworths is now also on board with this incredible initiative!

Plastic bags can be a problem not just for the consumer but also for the environment.

The first ever, “Leave One Take One” reusable shopping bag initiative has been launched in South Africa.

This exciting initiative is a collaboration between Spar and popular blogger, Good Things Guy.

Brent Lindeque of Good Things Guy saw a gap in society and decided to take some initiative.

He noticed that there are many shopping bags that get wasted from sitting at home in cupboards and all the other places at home.

Furthermore, he decided to draft an intelligent plan to effectively use shopping bags in a way that is beneficial for people and the environment.

This initiative encourages all consumers to stop adding unnecessary bags to the world.

Spar realized how amazing this idea was and decided to give Brent the green flag by implementing this concept to the public.

This initiative has already been up and running for a month now.

On the 1st of September, Spar officially started the “Leave On Take One”, an initiative where consumers can leave a bag and take a bag.

This may be the next successful initiative because it gives consumers the platform to be interactive while shopping.

Also, the shopping bag is made locally by using brown, recycled ginger beer bottles in hopes to source more in an effective way.

It also brings a sense of joy because the consumers feel like they are part of a great movement and are playing a crucial role in saving the world.

Moving forward, Spar aims to implement this initiative in at least one store in each province before they implement it around the entire country.
