KZN sounds off on vaccine: "Only after the President takes it LIVE on TV will I take the vaccine"

There has been a lot of skepticism, conspiracy theories, and disinformation over the COVID-19 vaccine.

On Monday night, President Cyril Ramaphosa revealed the COVID-19 vaccine rollout plan for South Africa in his address to the nation.

The number one citizen of the country noted the wariness and hesitancy from many South Africans when it comes to the vaccine.

Breaking down the rollout plan, Ramaphosa told the country that phase one would prioritise around 1.2-million frontline healthcare workers. Essential workers such as teachers, police, municipal workers, and other frontline personnel would receive the jab during phase two.

Immediately after the President's address, social media was abuzz with commentary on the vaccine and whether or not individuals would be availing themselves to get it.

J Sbu, who is also a father of a young boy child, is uncertain as to what he will do. Like many South Africans, he is concerned and wants to educate himself more on the subject matter. He does note that he is not an anti-vaxxer.

An anti-vaxxer is an individual who is reluctant to take any form of vaccination.

Stacey, on the other hand, says that she will be first in line when the COVID-19 vaccination is readily available for South Africans.

It is clear, as found on Stacey and J Sbu's Facebook page, that this topic is really polarising.
