A new development has just come up in Umhlanga Rocks, Durban.

Many factors have contributed to this much anticipated opening. The major factor being business opportunities and job creation.
In total, this R4.5-billion project is set to employ 26,000 people.
As stated by Vivian Reddy, the international fashion brands, amazing restaurants, world-class hotel, and apartments have sparked the interest of locals and tourists.

Vivian goes on to mention the challenges that were faced regarding this particular "golden spot" in Umhlanga.
Not only did they spend R30-million relocating public facilities such as tennis courts, stormwater pipes, and 45,000 truck loads of sand, but this plot alone was the only available space 'on the rocks' that they could use.
It cost them a whopping R180-million before the first brick was laid.

Its debut has brought much interest to the heart of Umhlanga.
This site has been many years in the making and we are so glad that the Radisson Blu was able to make it despite uncertain conditions such as COVID-19, the travel ban, KZN Floods, and so much more.
Keep an eye out (or up) for this masterpiece next time you enter Umhlanga Rocks. Who knows, maybe you can bump into Vivian there and pick his brain about your burning questions...
