Fast Furious 9: Should they hit the brakes?

Buckle up everyone, there is another 'The Fast and the Furious' movie on the way!
The release date for the ninth edition of the hugely popular and successful movie franchise is set for May this year, but no definite date has been announced as yet.

Initially, the plan was for the tenth and supposedly final (we have heard this before!) edition of the film to be released in April 2021.
However, with the pandemic, this meant that plans had to be changed. After many delays, Vin Diesel revealed that he had hoped that fans would get a two-part finale to the series.
According to reliable sources, the production team is hoping to set up Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson's return as Luke Hobbs in 'The Fast and the Furious 10'.
Johnson has appeared in four Fast & Furious movies.

This should come as welcomed news to the die hard fans of the franchise as there have previously been rumours of a feud between Johnson and leading man, Diesel, since 2017. This was six years into the two filming four movies together. It was never clear what the conflict was about but based on the rumour mill, it had to do with the tense working environment created by the two stars.
Following these rumours, filming on 'The Fast and the Furious' halted and Johnson filmed a spin off of the franchise called 'Hobbs and Shaw' with Jason Statham.
Unlike their supposed falling out in real life, their characters: Dom and Hobbs actually never had any issues with each other. The last time they saw each other was in Fate of the Furious. They parted ways amicably, which means a return in F9 and F10 is completely plausible!
As it gears up for F9, there's already excitement for its two-part finale in Fast & Furious 10 and 11.
J Sbu, who was a fan of the franchise when it first came out, has shared that he is abandoning ship.
For me, as soon as Paul Walker passed away, that was it. We loved the tribute, but that is it. It seems that they are just continuing the franchise now for the sake of it and obviously to make money.- J Sbu
