But it also seems like every time one is close to losing all faith in humanity, there are people like Warren Sharp who help us restore some of the hope that has been lost.

That's why it's so extremely upsetting when bad things happen to good people.

Warren is a Durban local who has been the proud owner of Webb Electronics, where he has worked alongside his son, for many years. His customers speak fondly of him and the great service he has always provided.

One of Warren's most notable characteristics is that he is always willing to help and lend a hand to those in his community and beyond. Not only has he been working with Community Crime Prevention Organisation Durban to help keep the public safe, but most recently he stepped in to assist a poor woman who had found herself in a dangerous situation.

On the 4th of September, Warren heard a distressing scream outside his home and proceeded to check and see what was going on. He came across a woman screaming as she was being assaulted by a man she knew. Without a second thought, Warren rushed to her side and assisted in trying to save the woman.

Unfortunately, this resulted in Warren also being severely assaulted by the man and he has been hospitalised. He's suffered serious injuries to his head, skull, and face.

His medical aid will not be able to cover any of his medical expenses given the extent of his injuries.

Stacey and J Sbu spoke to his stepdaughter, Kelly Smith, to find out what happened after her brave stepdad was taken to hospital and how his recovery has been going.

You can help Warren and his family cover the medical expenses by making a contribution on his Back a Buddy page, here.

At this point in time, they have raised R53,000 of their total needed, which is R300,000.

Our thoughts are with Warren and his loved ones during this time and we hope he makes a full recovery.

We could use a lot more Warrens in this world.
