A controversy that has gripped Mzansi!

The "adopted son" of the well-known South African rap-rave group, Die Antwoord, has made allegations against them.

Gabriel "Tokkie" du Preez is the "adopted son" of the duo. Their dysfunctional relationship began when he was a minor.

The group is currently being accused of child slavery, grooming, and exploitation of a minor.

In an interview with Gabriel, we learn a lot about the stress and unsafe and unjust conditions he was under as a kid, as well as the backstory surrounding his involvement with the group.

Watch the interview below:

The timeline is as follows: the duo met Gabriel in his adolescence and asked him to be involved with music videos and creating content to promote their music. Their relationship advanced one day when Waddy Jones (Ninja) and Anri du Toit (Yolandi Visser) picked Gabriel up from school and Gabriel's mother told her son that he was to be adopted.

Thereafter, Gabriel was trapped in a cycle of slavery.

In the interview, his childhood is described as anything but normal. He grew up forced to work all the time and do what he was told. The unequal power relations and "demonic" imagery lead to serious affects on Gabriel's well-being.

"They made me swear more and made me believe that I could burn people in hell and that I am the king of hell. They told me that I could bring darkness upon the world," Gabriel, who suffers from a rare skin disease called hypohidrotic ectodermal dysplasia, explained in the video interview.

Included in the video is a clip of Gabriel, then nine or 10-years old, floating on a pool lilo, telling the camera: "Come to Yolandi's house, I will f*****g burn you in hell, I will burn your face on the stove."

Several other similar situations were referenced.

The now 20-year old has decided to speak out against this internationally-recognised group.

The group is allegedly being accused of child slavery, exploitation of a minor, drawing blood of a minor for a 'ritual', child pornography, accomplice and co-conspiracy to a stabbing, and abuse.

More on the particulars of these allegations are shared in the interview.

While the situation is creating controversy in the public eye, others are stepping forward with allegations and supporting claims of their own.

In response to a detailed list of accusations against Die Antwoord, their only response through their agent was: "Die Antwoord don't agree with Tokkie's statements."

More will be revealed on this developing story.

We wish Tokkie all the best on his journey to solace and becoming a model/actor.
