Bonang Matheba wins court case but Rea "ain't paying", B!

The verdict is in! The flames have been fanned. The bills are up in smoke.

Local media personality and star of 'Being Bonang', Bonang Matheba, has won her court case against 22-year-old vlogger, Rea Gopane.

So let's spill the tea...

It all started last year when Rea stated on his podcast, 'Everything SA Music TV', that Bonang introduced ex-boyfriend, rapper Kiernan 'AKA' Forbes, to cocaine.

As you can imagine, this caused a stir that resulted in Rea making an apology video for Bonang. In the video, he shared that he has “learnt from this mistake”. However, this was not enough to satisfy Queen B.

According to the lawyer’s letter shared online by the TV personality, the allegation was “defamatory, intended to humiliate Bonang and her reputation”. They also stated that the allegation was false.

Despite Bonang stating that she reached out to Rea when the story started trending and gave him an opportunity to retract his statement, she showed little remorse for the young vlogger thereafter. 

Initially, the legal letter stated that she wanted R500,000 and it had to be paid within 10 days. However, on Friday, Bonang took to Twitter to share " I won" and "R300 000" which caused a frenzy on social media.

These Tweets indicated that Bonang had won her case against Rea. 

Rea took to Twitter to clap back with the following response:

It is still unclear how the court process occurred or how Bonang will receive this money from the 22-year-old vlogger, but there is one thing we do know for sure - this isn't over.

Bonang later took to Twitter to share the following statement:

We all know through cases such as Cardi B that drug allegations can not be taken lightly. Rea may have been wrong but did he know any better? Or is this an excuse that he should not be allowed to hide behind?
