Listen to Danny K speak to Damon Beard about his tweets.
Danny K says he stands by his comments that white people need to be aware of their privilege, and he says that only people who are racists will have a problem with what he is saying.
He broke his silence in an exclusive interview with Damon Beard where he also addressed claims that he only made the comments to promote his music.
The 'I Can't Imagine' hitmaker said people can no longer keep quiet about the crisis of racism in South Africa.
"Not enough white people call out racism when it rears its ugly head. Yes it may be uncomfortable and yes you may be the singular unpopular opinion, but stand firm and have COURAGE. We can no longer be silent," he wrote.
Speaking about the backlash he's received, he says he is not focusing on that and is instead engaging with people that support what he had to say.
