How young is too young for cosmetic surgery?
Updated | By East Coast Urban
Children as young as 10 are now going under the knife to have surgery. The reasons vary from medical to what some deem vanity.
Community Today shared how children are now asking to have plastic surgery. The rise in bullying at school is the major reason for this.

Thandolwethu shared how her 11-year-old niece has been going through a difficult time at school. So much so that she has resorted to bunking school. Her niece has been relentlessly bullied for the size of her nose and has spoken to her parents about getting surgery.
Thandolwethu was made aware of this by her sister, who was distressed by her daughter's unhappiness.
Her mother has given in to her request, but her father is completely against the idea. His argument is that their daughter is far too young for this and therefore lacks the emotional maturity to even be considering surgery. He believes that they, as parents, need to work harder in building their daughter's self esteem and reject the thought of her changing herself to be accepted.
Thandolwethu put the question to KZN listeners: Would you allow your child to have plastic surgery?
