He paid WHAT for a photo of a potato?
Updated | By East Coast Drive
You will not believe what one man paid for a photograph of a potato.
A photographer has sold a picture of an Irish potato for €1-million.
Yes, you read that whole sentence correctly. Someone actually paid R18-million for a photo of a potato.
46-year-old Kevin Abosch confirmed he had sold the photograph of an organic potato to an unnamed European businessman.
The photograph was taken in 2010.
It sits alongside shots of Steven Spielberg and Michael Palin in the photographer’s portfolio.
Abosch said, “It’s not the first time someone has bought the art right off my wall. We had two glasses of wine and he said, ‘I really like that’. Two more glasses of wine and he said: ‘I really want that.’"
We'd love to know how strong that wine was!
What do you think? Is this art OR is this just ridiculous?
